Why do you (or don't you) exercise? I, personally, think it is so fun and the endorpins that release from it give me that much needed high to be happy and get through my day and actually enjoy it! My husband thinks I am crazy to wake up at 5:00am to run before I go to the gym to teach 2 classes, but I love it!

Then there are some people that do it (like my husband) because they want to be healthy. Others because they are trying to lose weight or trying to tone up. Then the last group that do it to meet girls...... yuck! Whatever your reason (I pray it's not the last one I listed) here is a guildeine to help you decide how much you should be doing regularly.

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has issued this statement about exercise that can help you decide what you need to do....

To prevent chronic diseases, try and exercise for at least 30 minutes a day on most days.

To help prevent weight gain, aim for about 60 minutes of exercise on most days.

For weight loss, shoot for 60-90 minutes of exercise on most days.

Now to clarify...... "on most days" does not mean 3 days a week. It means 5-7 days a week. "Exercise to prevent weight gain or lose weight" does not mean a nice walk with your dog. Get that heart pumping a little. If your dog is not panting then pick up the pace a bit! It's ok to sweat and it's ok to get a little uncomfortable. Go out there and get it done! Remember I am here to help you along the way! Let me know what you need!

Remember....... we all have off days, but even a bad workout is better than no workout!
